The Week of Miracles

WOW what a week it has been. Miracle after miracle after miracle! I am going to apologize in advance for any error because this computer doesnt have a very good space bar lol. The DR life.

Okay so first we have this family we teach with a dad who is less active and a mom who isn't a member. At first they weren't very interested but now the mom has a baptismal date and the dad is preparing to be worthy to baptize her. FELICIDADES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BEST THING EVER. The lesson was really crazy because we were on splits with our sister training leaders. I was SO nervous because we were in my area so I had to lead ALL the lessons that day UGH IN SPANISH. WOW crazy! But actually it was one of the best days in my mission and the Spanish was flowing! We were teaching the Plan of Salvation and at the end of the lesson I gave her a date and asked her if she would be baptized on this day and she said with absolute certainty YES!!!!!!!!!!! AHHH THE JOYS OF THE PLAN! I love the language and I LOVE the mission.

We had more miracles with another less active. She hadn't been progressing much and she has problems with smoking. She speaks perfect English because she grew up in America SCORE! So I feel very close to her. I gave her some of my favorite talks one being a reference from Ruby Matesen thank you and shout out for inspiring the people of the DR. She said she has read them all multiple times and that they are really helping her. She has been coming to church and had an interview to prepare to be able to take the Sacrament again. Gosh isn't that just the greatest thing ever? The church is so dang true. I love it here!

I love you all so darn much and I hope you all know that I pray for you! You have a loving Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ lives. The heavens are open and we have the restored gospel on earth. Un gran bendicion! Live it. Love it!

All the love,

A Big Farewell
This week in church there was a mission farewell, and I couldnt understand much but boy was it glorious! There is something so special about mission farewells. A very nervous/excited feeling. The boy who gave his farewell is going to Guatemala. He is going to be amazing. The Spirit was So strong in his talk. Like literally I couldn't understand a lot of it and I was crying. It was magical. His mom is inactive in the church and we have been meeting with her and I could see a change in her after this talk. It was incredible.

Today we played softball again and I continue to be a legend. I think I will forever be remembered in my area. All the time people talk about your legacy as a missionary. Who do you want to be remembered as? A hard worker or lazy? Positive or negative? Of course I have ideas about who I want to be remembered as but I think I already have my legacy as the white girl who can pitch. Thats not all but definitely a big part haha.

I dont have much to say this week but we have been seeing miracles in our area. Our schedule is SUPER full and we are getting a good amount of new people to teach. It is really crazy and I often wonder what I did to deserve this success. I must have been obedient at some point because we are being blessed and I dont know why, but I know part of it has to do with the prayers you are all saying for me and the love you guys are sending. I appreciate ever thought. I love you all so much.

All the love,

Three Months YA

Wow three months in the mission. CRAZY STUFF. I love it more and more everyday. The church is SO true.

How amazing was general conference??!!!!! HOLLA at the new President of the Quorom Russell M Nelson for his SHOUTOUT to the women in the church because boy oh boy are the women SO STRONG. Heck yeah! I loved this talk. The women in the church are SO important and I hope we all realize how essencial we are. WOO! Women power! I loved all of conference and for anyone who didnt get a chance to watch it or who has no idea what I am talking about you can find it here: https://www.lds.org/general-conference/sessions/2015/10?lang=eng It was truly amazing. I feel so lucky to know that there is a living prophet on earth today. We are so lucky to be able to hear the words of the Lord!

There is this saying in the church that goes: you can do hard things. I have decided to tweak it a bit so it is more fitting for me. Usally it comes after the phrase missions are hard but you can do hard things. I am changing it to: Missions are weird but you can do weird things. Honestly missions are so weird. Like I will be sitting in a lesson with a women and she will start breat feeding her baby in front of my wife nothing covering herself. Or for example we ride in this things called Banderitas that someone explained as school buses gone wrong. I like to say they are school buses gone right. Imagine a school buses painted green and purple. Then imagine the bus from the third harry potter where he is thrown around a bunch. Yeah that is the experience here. They other day our zone decided we are going to sing hymns while we ride them. Then me and my companion and just the zone leaders were on one and we sang love one another in spanish on a banderita. It was a party let me tell you.

This week I have been doing a lot of thinking about any wrongdoings I have done in the past. I would just like to apologize to anjyone who I have caused pain in your life. I want to apologize for anything I may have done that was less than pleasing to you. I want you to know that I am truly sorry. I hope that you can find a way to forgive me and I prmise to try to be better in the future. I love you all so much and I know that through the Atonement of Jesus Chrsit that we can get through any pain we have. The true church is here on earth. We are so blessed. We have a loving Heavenly Father. You all have an unlimited potential. Go out there and KILL IT!

All the love,
